Firstly we would like to pass on huge thanks to Mirjam from ERA Makelaardijk Utrecht; we would not have been as successful navigating the Dutch home buying process without her. Purchasing a home in The Netherlands where Dutch isn't your completely understood language yet was not an easy task, which is why I'd recommend to seek out the services of ERA Makelaardijk Utrecht. Having gone to many viewings and finding a place which you like is the start of the process, but once you have figured out what you like and don't like, having an agent who can help you through the actual offer/buying process helped remove all the guess work and uncertainty about ‘what next’ and ‘when’. Mirjam assisted with an initial viewing, asking the right questions whilst you plan renovations in your head, which means you don't always think to ask the 'right-questions'. Once you decide to place an offer, this is when the knowledge of people who know can save you a lot of time and money during the offer/negotiating phase - having this type of expertise is again, highly valuable. Naturally, all legal documentation is in Dutch, which again, helps to have someone with experience to confirm the text in Sales Contracts and making sure that everything is aligned to the various time scales set out in the contract. Knowing the Dutch house buying process and market knowledge in Utrecht was key in every part of the process for which we cannot thank both Mirjam and ERA Makelaardijk Utrecht enough. If you are reading this and are thinking about making use of a 'buying agent', please do so and if purchasing a place in Utrecht, go and see ERA Makelaadijk Utrecht!
